BISHOP OF MAIDUGURI DIOCESE VISITS NAUB

His Lordship, Bishop Oliver Doeme Dashe of Maiduguri Diocese paid a curtesy visit to Nigerian Army University Biu on Monday 11th October, 2021.

Receiving the guest at the University conference Hall, the Vice Chancellor Nigerian Army University Biu, Professor Kyari Mohammed welcomed the Bishop to the ‘‘First Green University’’ in the sub Saharan Africa. Prof. Kyari assured that the already existing peace and unity among the diverse religious practices in the University community will be maintained.

Earlier in his remarks, the Bishop Oliver expressed delight at having the privilege to visit the University, adding that the visit is a familiarisation visit as part of his responsibility of going round the areas of worship under his territory which consist of Yobe, Borno and northern part of Adamawa.

The Bishop expressed his satisfaction with the level of peace and unity in the University as well as his gratitude to the University for allocating a piece of land for the construction of Church. He further disclosed that the Catholic community under his leadership is ready to partner with the institution to build a Catholic Church if a separate land could be allocated to them.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kyari Mohammed assured the Catholic Bishop that their request will be forwarded through the appropriate channel for necessary action.

The DVC Academics, DVC administration, the Registrar, the Librarian, Acting Bursar, Director Academic Planning and quality assurance, Director of Works and other Senior officers of the University are part of the Vice Chancellor’s entourage in receiving the guest.
