Mr Yahaya Abdulkarim, mNASA is the Ag. Dean, Student Affairs Division, he awaits a Ph.D. degree with specialization in Criminology from Bayero University Kano. He received the M.Sc. Sociology (Criminology) and B.Sc. Sociology degrees from the same university. Prior to that, he started his educational carrier in Bayero University, Kano in 1993 wherein he obtained Diploma Certificate in Crime Management in 1996. He is a member of Nigerian Anthropological & Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA). Abdulkarim started his lecturing carrier in 2001 with College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Keffi. He later proceeded to the State Polytechnic Lafia, Nasarawa State, as a pioneer IJMB lecturer.
He served as the unit head for 3years (from 2003-2006) before joining the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa as a pioneer lecturer of IJMB programme. Therein, he led IJMB Sociology students to obtain the overall best result in Sociology during their first outing in 2006. He was equally a pioneer lecturer of Diploma in Crime Management in Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa and also of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, having been employed as a part-time lecturer under the Sociology Department. He left Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa to join the Nigerian Army University, Biu in 2019.
Drawing from the previous experiences in the teaching of Sociology, Criminology and Crime Management, Abdulkarim worked to review the foundation syllabus for the initial take-off of Criminology and Security Studies programme in NAUB. He has authored and published scholarly works in both local and international journals of repute. He has a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving and a determination to see things through to completion. He was born in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, on 15 June, 1972. Yahaya Abdulkarim is married with children.
