The aim of this curriculum is to provide strategies in training the undergraduate students the rudiments of Arabic language as national and international language, and to be able to read, write and speak the language with an appreciable level of proficiency, as well as conduct academic and non-academic research for the development of Arabic knowledge in Nigeria. This will help in the development of individuals and the Nigerian societies to grow socially, politically and economically. This is more so that Arabic is increasingly becoming one of the most spoken languages in the world, rated as one of the first 5 globally. The objectives of the study of Arabic, as designed in this curriculum, are as follows:
⦁ Sound understanding of Arabic language in reading writing and conversation.
⦁ Elevation of Arabic language and feeling that it is an international language.
⦁ To be a good ambassador of NAUB specifically inside the country and generally around the globe in the fields of Arabic language and its discipline.
⦁ To be well equipped, trained and qualified to specialize in Arabic language, as the programme will be a key to translation from Arabic to English vise versa.
⦁ To be good material for further study and research.
