Lieutenant Colonel Bello Ahmadu

Lieutenant Colonel Bello Ahmadu was born on 12 March 1979 to the family of Alhaji Shuaibu A Ohimozi Tukura and Hajiya Aisha Shuaibu. The officer has achieved great academic and professional milestone. He obtained Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, MSc Information and Library Studies from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and PhD in Information System from University of Technology Malaysia.

Lieutenant Colonel Bello Ahmadu has had a distinguished career in the Nigerian Army, spanning over 16 years. Commissioned as a Lieutenant on October 24, 2008, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on October 24, 2022. On commission, Lt Col Bello Ahmadu was deployed to the Nigerian Army Education Corps. He held several instructional, staff and command appointments which included; Instructor, Nigerian Military School Zaria from 2008 to 2012; Staff Officer Grade II Archives, Nigerian Army Archives Lagos 2012 to 2014; College Librarian, Nigerian Army School of Education Ilorin from 2014 to 2015; Senior Librarian, Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna From 2016 to 2019; Staff Officer Grade II Circulation, Directorate of Nigerian Army Library Services Lagos 2022; Commandant, Command Secondary School Orba from 2023 to 2024. Lt Col Bello Ahmadu assumed duty as the Acting University Librarian, Nigerian Army University Biu on 15 April 2024.

Lt Col Bello Ahmadu attended several military courses as well as professional conferences, workshops and seminars within and outside the country. Lt Col Bello Ahmadu is decorated with Forces Service Star (FSS). He is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN), Member Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Member of Association of Information System (AIS), Member Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

The senior officer is happily married and blessed with 4 children. His hobbies include reading, sporting activities and travelling.
