BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Habila Mikailu is a researcher, academic, and technology expert in the field of Computer Science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Swarm Intelligence, and Intelligent Systems Development. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria, an MSc degree from Adamawa State University, Mubi, and a B.Tech degree from Modibbo Adama University, Yola.
Dr. Habila is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Nigerian Army University Biu, where he has served in several academic and administrative capacities, including as Head of Department. His teaching and research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Systems, Computer Vision, Swarm Intelligence, Health Informatics, and Intelligent Security Systems.
He has authored and co-authored several scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals, with research contributions focusing on the application of intelligent computational techniques to solving societal challenges such as misinformation detection, healthcare prediction systems, smart surveillance, cybersecurity, agricultural optimization, and educational technologies.
Dr. Habila is actively involved in research and innovation aimed at advancing technology-driven solutions for sustainable national development. His recent works include studies on firefly-inspired swarm intelligence models for misinformation control, machine learning-based disease outbreak prediction systems, intelligent attendance management systems, and smart autonomous surveillance technologies.
Beyond academics, he is passionate about mentoring students, promoting interdisciplinary research, and fostering innovation in emerging technologies across Nigeria and beyond.
