NAUB REACHES A MAJOR MILESTONE AS NUC APPROVES 31 POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) has marked a landmark achievement in its academic expansion following the official approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish 31 postgraduate programmes starting in the 2026/2027 academic session.
The authorization was conveyed in an official letter (Ref: NUC/AP/F42/VOL.I/06) signed by Dr. Ayuba Mohammed, Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC. The decision follows a successful resource verification exercise conducted at the university’s Main Campus by a panel of NUC experts.
Welcoming the NUC delegation during the assessment visit, the Vice-Chancellor of NAUB, Prof. Lawan Bala Buratai, expressed immense pride in the institution’s rapid trajectory. Established in 2018 with academic activities commencing in January 2019, NAUB has already produced competitive graduates serving in key sectors across Nigeria and globally. Prof. Buratai emphasized that launching postgraduate studies is a natural evolution for NAUB, strengthening its mission to advance higher learning, defense technology, and innovative research.
Impressed by the development on campus, the leader of the NUC delegation, Prof. Abdulsalam Gital, commended the university administration for its remarkable infrastructural and academic growth. He assured management of a fair, thorough, and objective evaluation. In her remarks, the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Fatima Kubili Muhammad, described the verification as an “open book test,” expressing full confidence in the institution’s facilities and preparation.
